Decadent but Easy Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
8 oz milk chocolate
1 Tbsp shortening
8-10 Large Ripe Strawberries, stems attached
Wash strawberries and dry completely, set aside. On a double boiler, slowly heat 7 oz of the chocolate, save 1 oz for later. (Double boiler can be made with a small pot filled with water and a stainless steel bowl placed over it, the water should not touch the bowl. Boil water and slowly melt the chocolate, add shortening and stir till melted to around 110 degrees. Keep stirring, remove from heat and melt remaining chocolate. Dip strawberries by holding stem and rolling in chocolate. Set on parchment paper. Cool in refrigerator till chocolate is hard, enjoy!
Tip: Do the same with white chocolate, place in plastic bag, cut one end of tip and drizzle over milk chocolate covered strawberries.
